Imagineering
Internship Presentation
What happens when I'm given a few minutes in front of leaders at Walt Disney Imagineering.
Concept / Story Treatment / Script
Every internship at Imagineering ends with a presentation - simply time set aside for interns to present to executives and other leaders what they did and what they learned during their time there. Knowing full well I may never have such an audience again, I decided that - one way or another - people were going to remember me.
So, I showed off "my latest invention." The story was that I created a device specifically to aid in my presentation. By scanning brainwaves, it had the ability to project thoughts onto a screen. In place of PowerPoint or Keynote, all I had to do was think of an image and it would automatically appear.
In true theme park fashion, though, something had to go horribly wrong. While I was hooked up to the machine (via EKG sensors slapped to my forehead), it malfunctioned; and as a result, my imagination became trapped inside the device. What followed was an absurd banter between myself and my imagination that, in the end, divulged all the information about my internship.
No video was taken the day of the presentation so below is a re-recording of what I originally presented at Imagineering. At the time of this filming, the invention prop no longer existed (most of the components were loans from WDI Show Lighting), so the video starts from the moment of the machine's malfunction and the subsequent electrical blackout.
As for the rest, simply watch and enjoy.
